Speaking for Myself is a collection of on-screen and
printable resources to develop speaking and listening skills.
Speaking for Myself has 60 on-screen flash cards, 15 two- and three-word talking stories and 8 nursery rhymes, each with
colorful animations and sound effects. There are five sets of games and diversions and extra flash cards and stories to print out from the CD.
Some language is specific to the U.K. (a cookie is
a "biscuit" and a truck is a "lorie") but we include
this title because it is designed to teach language to young children
and those with limited language and includes the option of rebus
and Makaton signing videos and symbols. It may not be appropriate
for older or higher functioning children.

Speaking for Myself was designed with special needs children in mind, but has proved

mainstream inclusive classrooms, as well as in homes all over the U.K.

listen, talk and read. The pack includes a CD, handbook, two sets of flash
cards, and a coloring book. Further 'do-it-yourself.' coloring books and
flash cards can be printed from the CD.
